Opera Singer. He was born (probably in 1887) and died in Valencia (Spain). When he was 12 years old, he began to work as fans painter. In 1913 he goes to Paris and there he studies with deReszke, famous Polish tenor. In 1914, he goes to Italy and later, he returns to Valencia for the season 1915-1916 in the "Teatro de Zarzuelas Ruzafa". In January 1916 he embarks for Havana, contracted by the Managers Santacruz and Arango (or Argudin), of the "Teatro Marti", to sing Zarzuelas and Operetas. In August he embarks for New-York, singing during a month in the Rialto Theatre of the city. The season 1916-1917, he signs a contract with the "Boston Nal. Opera", singing in different american towns, until december 1916. In February 1917, he sings in the Garden Theatre of New York, with the Cosmopolitan Opera Cº. At the end of 1919, he begins a long (and his more stable and faithful) collaboration with the "San Carlo Opera Cº", whose director is Mr. Fortune Gallo. The season 1919-1920 he goes with this Company through Canada and the United States. He get a contract with the Metropolitan, beginning the 11 november with Opera Caravanning in Philadelphia, and later in the Metropolitan Opera House of New-York, the 16 november till the 19th april 1925, with a concert in solitaire in the Carnegie Hall, the 29 march 1925. The last performance in the United States is curiously with the "San Carlo Opera Cº" in the "Century Theatre" of New-York, singing "Rigoletto" and "Otello." Later, he embarks to Spain, to give two concerts in the "Teatro Principal" of Valencia, where all his family lives. He only gives the firts of the two concerts. His health gets worse and he cannot return to the United States to fulfill several engagements he had. In his long career, he worked with opera singers such as Lucrecia Bori (also from Valencia), Miguel Fleta, Feodor Chaliapin or Beniamino Gigli. His repertory (as baritone) include "Rigoletto," "Faust," "I Pagliaci," "Il Trovatore" and "Aida" among others. He have two sons Francisco and Vicente from his marriage with Teresa Pallarol. First, he was buried in Cementerio de Valencia, but later, he was cremated and his ashes moved to Barcelona, where lived his son and his granddaughter Ondina. When his son dies was cremated and with his father's ashes, scattered at sea. Cause of death: Miocarditis.
